The 28th China (Shanghai) International Boat Show (CIBS2025) solidified its position as China’s largest and longest-running comprehensive boat exhibition this spring. The event, a key barometer for the Asian marine market, drew over 600 renowned brands from around the world to a sprawling 45,000 square meter exhibition space at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Hall.

The show served as a crucial platform for global brands to connect with the Chinese market. The American yacht brand SeaRay chose the event for the China debut of its SEARAY 320 yacht. Other major players like Winsen Power, Yamaha, and Honda Power also leveraged the show for new product launches, highlighting its importance for business development and brand exposure.

A central theme of the forum discussions was the industry’s sustainable and intelligent transformation. The concurrently held “2025 China International Boat艇Industries Forum” featured experts from classification societies like China Classification Society, shipyards, and tech companies, who delved into topics such as new energy vessel applications, smart boat driving technology, and best practices for green manufacturing. Another session, the “Boat Green Technology and Sustainable Development Seminar,” gathered experts from academia and research institutes to discuss zero-carbon energy and carbon emission reduction technologies for ships.

The show also facilitated concrete business opportunities. The “Matchmaking Meeting International Trade Matching Meeting” continued its success, reporting an impressive on-site intention success rate of 40%, effectively connecting international suppliers with local distributors and buyers. This blend of grand showcases, high-level discourse, and practical business matching underscores Shanghai’s pivotal role in driving the global boat industry forward.
